I started Wilson Service Company on April 1st, 2013 and I've been lucky enough to learn a thing or two over the years. I have worked hard to make sure that my customers know, that I have the most up-to-date information and knowledge of their home comfort systems and I always have their best interests at heart. Keeping them comfortable is my goal!
My story began as a child...
For as long as I can remember, I have always had a craving for taking mechanical things apart just to figure out what made them tick and just to see if I could put them back together. My Granny had often told a story of me as a child taking her broken toaster apart, fixing it and giving it back to her. While I do not remember doing this, it never came as a surprise as it sounded just like me. Growing up, it was toys, bicycles, then cars, trucks and later on computers... I just had to take things apart just to see how they worked and if I could improve their performance. As an adult, I still do these things just with much bigger appliances and it ranges in everything from motorcycles to iPhones. (no, not mine... family & friends bring me their iPhones for repairs, usually shattered screens. lol)
My background in the Heating and Cooling Industry began in 1991 as I was employed by a local Manufacturing Company that produced commercial kitchen heating and refrigeration equipment.
My education in HVAC began in 1995 when the fore mentioned company put me through a two week course were I acquired my EPA Refrigerant Certification. In July 1997 I started Classes at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in HVAC technology. To present day, I have taken numerous (too many to mention) HVAC related Credit Courses, Training Courses, Continuing Eduction Courses, seasonal refresher classes, product training classes, Seminars and Webinars (most of which at JCCC) that eventually lead up to the Master Mechanical Certification (License) that I hold. This is an industry that demands continuing education and as such there will never be an end date for my education.
My employment history as mentioned before started in 1991 building commercial kitchen equipment. From 1997 to 1999 I worked in the Franklin, Douglas and Miami County areas as a HVAC Service and Installation mechanic. From 1999 to 2013 I worked in the Johnson County and Kansas City Metro areas at first as a Service and Installation Mechanic, then Dispatcher, Customer Service Representitive, Sales Representative, and Service and Installation Manager. (Most of these were all at the same time).
With each company I was employed over the past 27+ years, I have always been that one guy that wore many hats, that "Go to Guy" that can do and did just about every job within that company, so consequently I have always been that one person that everyone leaned on and counted on to get things done and make things happen.
To be continued....
